YOUR SOUNDS

Do you know
the sound you let out
on that day the first draught
of fluidless air invaded your lungs?

A cry?

Are you also
mixing your sound
into man's endless cacophony
now that you've heard earth’s music?

A groan? A chant?

With what sound
will you make your exeunt
when the one who loaned you
the ‘borrowed breath’ comes calling?

A sigh? A gasp? A chuckle?
