DO NOT SPEAK OF LOVE

Do not speak of love
when you tell your friends
about these things I do to you
the things I do for you, with you

I will write many verses
about your breast, your thighs
and this warm moistness in-between
But my verses only know passion, not love

Tho’ I put you to sleep
with my frenzied thrustings
and wake you with playful kisses
I am just a body, not an arrowed heart

So, do not be foolish
Do not say “he loves me”
for love and I have never met
(I would cuss him if we ever did!)

I am just a man
who found a woman
deserving of devotion, attention
one who has a door my key can unlock
