POET'S RAGE

Image
@BrainyPoet: Poet's Rage If my pen could sputter bullets How I would riddle your frame With a thousand heated words! If I could ink, now, scalding acid, Would I not drown your greedy throat That your tongue may lie no more? If only could rhyme you death And enjamb your stolen laughter With spells of lingering tears! My pen bears not Merlin's spells Nor my ink the curse of death. Still, I shall curse you to your grave. My words shall steal into your souls And be the worm that eats out The vegetable's life from within. I shall write, verses to make you A blank verse, empty, dark - A shadow that walks the day. I'll rhyme your day into dark night If your lips shall not swallow their lies And your hands, return the stolen dreams.

WHAT CAN WORDS DO?

Image
@BrainyPoet: What Can Words Do? (Title poem of my book 'What Can Words Do?' ) What can our inked words do? Come together, plot a coup Retrieve the stolen crown Plant a smile o’er frown Make lying tongue Sing Truth's song Tell tyrant: "Recant!"...? Could they be worthless ink stains Corpses on paper plains That flies won't inspect Ghoul-feast reject Lacking stink Wasted ink? Tell me! What can words do?

GIVE IT UP FOR WOMEN!

Image
@BrainyPoet  Give It Up For The Women! to be a father is one step farther than becoming a man You know, we men are god-damned lucky to be men! I realise this fact more and more as I inch towards becoming a husband and/or a father. From our obviously physical advantage over the women folk to the simple fact that we don't have the crimson monthly visitor to deal with, unlike our female 'weaker vessels' (feminists, make una forgive your olodo broda!). All evidence point to a slanted human divide, biological and otherwise, between the he-man and the she-man. to be a mother is to un-choose murder gazillion miles for a woman We could go further to the fact that the average woman's body tends to break down faster than the average male's, such that a 50 years old male will be clearly physically better than a 50 years old woman. Of course, the reason for that it not too hard to guess... The biggest one is the child bearing thing. The fact that they have

BECAUSE BOKO IS HARAM

the market is not a place to buy and sell it is a place to view the restless moon from within the walls of once-was stalls whose shelves now mock expiry dates ‘twas a bargain we came for how did we reach Death’s door? the school is not a place to spur medullas it is a place to scribble on abandoned scribbles while silence cackles a muted applause and echoes repeat the absent teacher the Devil sneezed in class so that Death may pass!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: OUR MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS, SISTERS & LOVERS

Image
Yes, kick her like a ball Right, in the womb and skull Ignore the ‘help me’ call Didn’t she bring Adam’s fall? If you were born by two men, 'gestated' in a male womb and nursed with breasts from a 6-pack chest, ignore this. Don’t even read beyond this spot... If by now you're still reading, then you are a human being born from a womb, nursed by a woman. You have a mother, sisters, lovers and daughters. Bottom line, you be correct human beans ...sorry, being. you punch the 'E' from ‘SHE’ for 'SHE's the woe to man 'Shh!': silent she must be she is only a 'wo(e)man' Women are perhaps the most important of the sexes, saddled with the greater responsibility in procreation – by them each one of us came to be, nurtured by them. Now, I have a question: Why do you think you have to abuse a woman, when she could easily be someone's mother, sister, daughter and wife? See what those animals did to Damini in I

SHE WON’T TAKE HIS SURNAME! HE WON’T PAY HER BRIDE PRICE!

Chimamanda N. Adichie and her husband Ivara Esege equality of the sexes calls not for muscle flexes My campaign against abuse and all other forms of violence against women is something I stand for with all mylife, so much that it has crippled me in some personal matters of the heart. It is a noble cause I am proud of... But I am not delusional. I am not blind either. Some things are not just wished away, and this applies to traditions that have existed for ages. But fear don dey catch me these days o! Some people have tainted the genuine struggle of seeing women escaping the shackles of a stifling masculine society where women cannot secure bail, cannot be operated upon without the consent of adult male, are sold off in marriage at tender age, are abused and misused without hope of justice in the courts... tis not fight of hairy he-males against the breasted fe-males Is feminism actually a scrotal sack kick against tradition or just a balancing, re adjustment of the sys

MY MOTHER, MY WIFE

Oh God, I was formed in a womb Kept, not flushed to the tomb I suckled hungry nipples Saved from Death's ripples Lord, Help me to justify my birth Let no female heart Be bled by my deeds... Else, mow me like weeds!

WOULD YOU HELP HEAL BORNO, YOBE?

Image
Would You Lend A Hand For Borno, Yobe, Nigeria? Salam! On my mind is #Maiduguri, #Yobe and #Nigeria. We poets are wordsmiths. Agreed. But what will we smith in the face of the violence taking souls away like they were nothing? Are we just going to remain passive onlookers until we are touched? Well, I want to answer on your behalf. So I say NO, we will do something, however little! Last week I said I had a project in mind. Now, this project is getting more flesh. I have gotten some support and some tips: Someone wrote: "Why will you kill in God's name? He created the Life in the first place! Do you do God a favour by destroying others? No, he waits to destroy you, if you do not change!" Our language should be peace, knowledge inspiring: SEEK THE PEACE Its time to lay down swords And heal the sores With heartfelt words. ... Kill them, they are infidels, Kill them, one and all, Damned spiritual rebels!
